ABLE day programs provide a safe and positive environment for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to increase their opportunities for skill development, socialization, and overall activity level.

ABLE has two day programs; one in Thornton and the other is located in Grand Junction. ABLE is open Monday-Friday. We also provide transportation, to and from the person's residence, if the individual is in ABLE's catchment area. Many opt to take public transportation as well (AAR/GVT/RTD). ABLE pays for most activities.

ABLE is unique to other programs because an individual can participate in a "blended" day program with lots of variety to select from. They can choose from community connections, volunteer work or may select activities at our base site. Individuals have the freedom to choose how to spend their day and are not locked in to a set group or activity.

Community Participation: Bowling, tours, museums, cafe experiences, trips to the recreation center, eye-hand coordination activities and libraries.
Volunteer Work: Goodwill Thrift Store, ARC Thrift Store, Adopt-a-Street, Catholic Outreach, and Homeward Bound
Base-Site Classes & Activities: Life skill classes, arts & crafts, music lessons, writing projects, parties, chapter book read-a-louds, and sensory activities.

ABLE day programs offer services with a family feel where learning and laughing are a daily occurrence. With educational classes offered every day, there is always a chance to learn something new.
